Growing up, I always imagined my future livelihood to be in the health care field, whether physical or mental. After achieving remarkable results by shifting from treating my asthma with conventional medicine to alternative methods I knew I was on the right path. Through searching different modalities I came across Chinese medicine and knew right away that I had found what I wanted to be when I grew up. I started attending Texas College of Traditional Medicine in Austin. I received extensive training in acupuncture and Chinese herbology, including clinical internship seeing more than 380 patients. I received my master's in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Treating people from different backgrounds for a variety of conditions taught me not only a whole lot about acupuncture and herbs, but about the importance of listening, and possessing compassion and love.

I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources and Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine. Even before I discovered acupuncture and herbs, I was perplexed by the overuse of pharmaceutical drugs for conditions that could be treated with dietary and lifestyle changes. I am always awed by the logic of the principles that guide Oriental Medicine. I have spent my whole life caring for others, and have learned a lot about respect and honesty when it comes to dealing with peoples’ health. These ideals are the most important to me. My experiences have cultivated a desire to find the best methods to treat each individual and to always bear in mind the goals of treatment and the needs of the patient.
