About the Community Setting We want you to feel comfortable. There may be others getting acupuncture at the same time as you. Take comfort in the knowledge that we all share the same desire to improve our well being. Although we have a group setting, your privacy is very important to us. In accordance with HIPPA, we never discuss your case with or around anyone without your consent. If you require more than a brief consult, feel free to request that we step into the consultation room. We may ask you to do the same if we have questions for you. Preparation for the treatment In order t0 ensure safety, success, and comfort for each treatment, there are several things we ask of you before your appointment: Do not come on an empty stomach. We ask that you eat at least something small. Please avoid eating or drinking anything that might affect the color of your tongue, such as coffee or candy. Wear loose, comfortable clothes. We need access below your knees, your upper arms, and the abdomen area. Make sure that you have an hour for the treatment. Let us know before hand if you have any time constraints. In consideration for other patients please turn off cell phones, speak softly, and avoid strong perfumes and colognes. Feel free to bring items for your own comfort such as apecial pillows, blankets, earplugs, headphones, or eye covers.
According to Texas law, you must have seen a physician within one year prior to your first treatment for the condition for which you are seeking treatment. You will be required to provide documentation about your doctor's visit. If you are unable to provide documentation, you must sign a document attesting that you have seen your physician. Some conditions are exempt from this law, such as chronic pain, weight loss, and somking, drug, or alcohol addiction. Please call us if you have questions about your specific case and whether a physician visit is required from you. (512)353-4325. |
